LoadLink (Pty) Ltd ("LoadLink", "we", "us") operates the LoadLink platform — a digital truck and load matching service for the South African logistics market. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Legal Basis for Processing (POPIA)
We process your personal information on the following grounds: • Performance of a contract — to provide the LoadLink service you signed up for • Legitimate interest — to improve our platform and prevent fraud • Legal obligation — to comply with South African law • Consent — for marketing communications (you may withdraw consent at any time)
5. Information Sharing
5.1 We share limited profile information (company name, truck type, ratings) with other users as part of the matching service. 5.2 We do not sell your personal information to third parties. 5.3 We may share information with: • Supabase (our database provider) — for data storage • Firebase (Google) — for push notifications • PayFast — for payment processing 5.4 We may disclose information if required by law or court order.
6. Data Retention
6.1 We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. 6.2 After account deletion, we retain minimal records for 12 months for legal compliance. 6.3 Load history and transaction records are retained for 5 years as required by South African tax law.
7. Your Rights (POPIA)

8. Data Security
We protect your personal information using: • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) • Secure database storage via Supabase • Row-level security policies on all data • Authentication via Supabase Auth • Regular security reviews Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
9. Location Data
We collect city-level truck location data that you manually enter. We do not collect real-time GPS location data from your device without explicit permission. Location data is used solely for matching loads with nearby trucks.
10. Push Notifications
We collect your device's push notification token (FCM token) to send you relevant notifications about load matches, job updates and account activity. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the LoadLink app.
11. Children's Privacy
LoadLink is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. Continued use of LoadLink after changes constitutes acceptance.
